We have a Siamese cat that came to us a sterilized stray, believe it or not. He’s great in almost every way, he’s not overly vocal like a Siamese, he doesn’t have to have a litter box – goes outside to do his business like a dog, and sleeps at the foot of the bed every night. The only one complaint we have about him is his obsession with our bathroom. This cat, if you even think of going for a private moment on your porcelain throne, he’s going to walk 2-inches in front of your hurried stride all the way there! I can’t count the number of times I’ve just wanted to shove my foot right up his ‘star fish’, as my husband refers to it as. I’m not even mentioning the watchful eyes of a ‘peeping tom’ I see poking around the curtain when we shower – no privacy in the bathroom I tell you.
You’re not alone
I know we’re not alone and this phenomena has me intrigued. Cats don’t seem to enjoy us watching them do their business in their box, what is to interesting to them about us doing ours?

The general theory is that the cat is curious, wants to be with us, etc but our cat only does this when we go to the bathroom. Where is he when I’m typing at the computer and he can sit in my lap? He also only follows to the master bathroom where my husband and I use. Does this mean he’s only overly attached to my husband and I and not that 3 children who have a bathroom of their own? Or is it just attachment to what’s going on in the master-bath?
Truthfully, I’m not sure we’ll ever really know what goes on in the head of the fickled feline. Does your pussy cat follow you to the loo?
