I’ve been on the search for the perfect kennel bowl to keep me from chasing food bowls all over the kennels and under beds etc. In my search I found the MidWest Stainless Steel Snap’y Fit Bowl. The heavy, stainless steel bowl sits tightly in the Snay’y Fit patented system while also allowing easy removal. I like that this bowl is pretty heavy compared to others I have looked at, good quality strength. The bowl fits in the protruding prongs with a snug fit, the holder then secures to the kennel wire with a sandwich clamp held tightly together with wingnuts. This allows for easy removal and adjustment.
The negatives I see in this design are the protruding prongs, these concern me just because rambunctious dogs may get injured if the bowl is removed for long periods or they remove the bowl themselves. I’m not sure how this design could have been improved upon to prevent injury though. Another thing that can be a bit troublesome is installing the sandwich clamp on the wire kennel panels. If you can’t install on a panel that you can reach on both sides you have to hold the clamp in place while screwing on the wingnuts and holding into place, doing all this through the small bar openings. Can be frustrating if you drop the nuts but once you get them started it’s pretty easy to get tightened up and placed properly.
Overall, I’d highly recommend these bowls and I will be ordering more in the future. The bowls are available in 10fl. ounce, 20 fl. ounce, 4 fl. cup & 8 fl. cup (1 and 2 qt.) sizes, so you should easily find a size that will fit your pets easily.
